Xiangdong Lai

Welcome to my show. My name is Xiangdong Lai. I am an industrial designer who is always seeking ways to apply new technologies. This is the first project design for people with Type 2 diabetes who find it difficult to control the disease and experience marginalisation in societies. The HUATO healthcare system provides a good solution which helps them to improve thier life quality. The sensors use a millimetre wave to test the glucose level and connect with the application to transmit the body date. Additionally, the device sits on the arm so that they can test without hiding. The application educates these people on how to manage diabetes and produce a record for treatment.

My second project is recreational diving. It uses biomimicry and imitates the stingray's shape. The control system is inspired by a plant called the Himalayan balsam. My third project design is for the commuter. It uses a double way of turning to give users an exciting experience when they are commuting as well as easy control and efficient work.
