The Rising Womxn Zine is a zine about womxn, by womxn, for everyone. It celebrates and empowers womxn as well as educates a wider audience about issues womxn face every day. The 90s was a time for riots, equality protests and womxn's liberation, so The Rising Womxn is heavily influenced by the underground Riot Grrrl zines. Mainstream media often represents and portrays womxn in an 'idealistic' way, this zine challenges that alongside going against traditional print media norms.
