Katie Jane Louise Lawton

I am Katie Lawton, an aspiring Exterior, and Interior Automotive & Transport Designer. In 2019 I had the privileged opportunity to work with the design department of Proton Automotive in Kuala Lumpur. During my 7 months in Malaysia I learnt about the Malay culture and their way of life, through this amazing experience. Working with the Proton designers and gaining an environmental understanding helped inspire my final major project, the Proton Rainforest Conservation ATV for the year 2030.This vehicle has the task to aid and ease the conservation and reforestation efforts, as well as further scientific research in the Malaysian Rainforest.

During my internship I worked on a futuristic MPV project based on the Malaysian demographic and culture. I was involved in this project from start to finish, working in Exterior, Interior, C&M and 3D modelling, moving through each department as the design progressed. The skills and knowledge gained from my internship with Proton were invaluable, I am very grateful for the opportunity they gave me. My skillset includes but is not limited to Autodesk Alias, Speedform & VRED, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
